Studies of efficacy and toxicity of drugs
Realization of in vitro and in vivo studies to determine the toxicity and efficacy of drugs, cosmetics and / or nutrition products.
These studies are designed with the aim of evaluating pharmacological safety and determining the therapeutic uses of new medications or chemical products.
The UIB has the necessary scientific-technical equipment to carry out the following tests:
- Irwin test, maximum tolerated dose (DMT), minimal lethal dose (DLM), lethal dose 50 (DL50), therapeutic window, etc.
- Xenograft: implantation of human tumor cells in animal models of experimentation to determine the size of tumors and to verify the efficacy of antitumor drugs.
- Cell cultures of human Alzheimer and mouse model with human Alzheimer's
- Animal models for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases (SHR rats).
