Creation of cultural tourism routes to revalue the heritage of a place
The interest in the territorial heritage has been gaining strength to the point of joining mass tourism. This has generated new possibilities for tourism development and diversification aimed at the promotion of culture and territory.
A research group from the University is specialist in the elaboration of territorial and urban development projects in order to create cultural routes and highlight the heritage value. The objective is to offer alternatives to the already existing tourist, cultural and leisure offer by developing sustainable models.
Therefore, the resources that can be of most interest to visitors are identified and selected and, from there, the route is planned and elaborated.
The Tourism Agency of the Balearic Islands has commended the creation of a cultural itinerary at European level in honor of Ramon Llull. The objective is to create a route through places where the Majorcan theologian and philosopher was, with the intention of claiming his figure and work.
