Studies of energy consumption and performance of information systems
Service aimed at the study of energy consumption and the performance of information systems to find strategies that reduce this consumption and, consequently, increase energy efficiency.
The performance and power required by computer systems grow rapidly at the same time as their ecological footprint and, consequently, the high power consumption required by these equipment. For all this, emerged the necessity to control energy consumption in this sector and implement solutions to mitigate the harmful effect. On the other hand, performance tests are tests to determine the speed with which the system performs a task in particular working conditions, as well as to verify other qualities of the system such as scalability, reliability and use of resources.
A research group from the Department of Computer Science of the University offers its study and advisory service to detect improvements in the system, not only associated with hardware, but also with the architecture and technologies used in the system.
