Study on the planning, impact and coverage of 4G and 5G mobile communications networks

Preparation of reports and studies related to the planning, impact and necessary or desired coverage of 4G and 5G networks.

5G is the new revolution that will transform the telecommunications industry and that will be put into practice from 2020. It will allow us to navigate with higher speed and with low latency, turning mobile phones into more energy efficient devices. To get an idea, the current 4G is around an average speed of 21Mbps, while the 5G will offer connections above 10Gbps.

Thanks to the fifth generation (5G), millions of devices will be connected to the internet (smart cities, houses, appliances, vehicles, etc.) with almost immediate data transfer. For example, information can be transferred more quickly between the car and the pedestrian, which will facilitate the use of the autonomous car.

However, to apply the theory of 5G to reality, it is necessary to have an infrastructure to improve connectivity in rural areas and extend its coverage in all corners and, for that, it is necessary to have a group of experts who know the 5G features, limitations and requirements.

5G

A group from the telecommunications area of the University offers its knowledge in 4G and 5G networks to prepare reports and studies on the planning, impact and coverage of these mobile communication networks. This supposes advice to companies in the telecommunications sector on the scope that their network should have, taking into account the impact of the territory (size, inhabitants, etc.) and the coverage of the communication networks.
