Analysis and synthesis of human movement by computer. Modeling expressions and emotions

Creation of characters with emotion based on reality through the modeling of expressions and emotions.

The University has extensive experience in the generation of characters with emotion based on the reality and facial animation of synthetic 3D characters. This modeling is achieved through the "Markerless Motion Capture" methodology. This methodology consists of a movement recording technique, which is recorded in the database, which describes the coordinates of the reference points and transfers them to the character or digital model, simulating the human movement.

A research group from the UIB develops a computational model to generate facial expressions so that the same three-dimensional space can integrate personality traits, emotions and moods, which were treated separately from existing models.
