Paleographic transcription and study of ancient documents
Transcription and editing of ancient documents
The transfer of ancient documents into updated texts ensures their durability and is of undoubted value for studying aspects of the history of language, culture, customs and daily life of past centuries, as it allows them to be read and used by anyone not specialized in philological work.
UIB professionals are dedicated to the paleographic transcription and edition of ancient documents from different archives in Mallorca, the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. Among the most common types of documents are books of minutes and accounts, royal, stately or notarial documents (wills, sales, leases, all kinds of contracts), deeds and judgments, baptismal, death and marriage certificates and letters.
It is a service for entities, organizations or individuals who have public or private documentary heritage and wish to transcribe or edit it.
