Theoretical and practical studies of chemical reactivity and molecular modelling of biological interest compounds

Studies on the chemical reactivity of compounds of biological interest and their interaction with biomolecules are carried out.

A research group from the UIB has experience in studying chemical reactivity and molecular modelling through experimental techniques of spectroscopy and theoretical modelling methodologies. Spectroscopy is a technique used to study the interaction between electromagnetic radiation and matter, with absorption or emission of radiant energy. Molecular modelling encompasses theoretical and computational techniques to model, imitate and predict the behaviour of molecules.

This service includes:

  • The experimental determination of chemical reactivity of molecules.
  • The experimental study of the interaction of molecules with proteins.
  • Molecular modelling of the interaction of molecules with biomolecules.
  • The theoretical study of the prediction of physicochemical properties of molecules.
