Public archaeology, dissemination and didactics of archaeological heritage

Service directed to the organization of educational activities to promote the archaeological heritage

Archaeology is the discipline that studies human societies from their material remains. The analysis of discovered objects allows us to know the history of the past and draw conclusions about their culture and way of life.

At the University there is a research group that intends to bring archaeology closer to children and young people. Therefore, it organizes and coordinates educational activities and workshops dedicated to the study of previous societies in order to be able to understand the societies of the present.

OUR EXPERIENCE

The research group has developed numerous diffusion and didactic activities of the archaeological heritage in different places of the Balearic Islands:

  • Activities and workshops at the UIB Archaeodrome
  • Educational workshops in schools and high school
  • Open doors days and participation in archaeological fairs.
